The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) was established in the Houston Independent School District in 1926. Once looked upon primarily as a source of enlisted recruits and officer candidates,

The JROTC program evolved into it's current form as a citizenship and leadership educational program devoted to the moral, physical, and educational development of American youth.

Hello I am Sergeant Harden, your JROTC program instructor at the High School for Law and Justice. With over two decades of experience in coaching, teaching, and mentoring in the military. I am committed to guiding young cadets towards becoming exemplary citizens within the greater Houston community and beyond.

During my time at  HSLJ, I have had the honor of mentoring cadets, focusing on the development of vital life and leadership skills. It is my passion to support and inspire each cadet to pursue and attain your future aspirations, leveraging the discipline and values instilled through our program.

My journey has been one of continuous learning and leadership, and I bring this wealth of experience to our JROTC program. Together, we will explore the principles of leadership, responsibility, and teamwork, aiming to equip you with the tools necessary for success both in and out of the classroom.

I look forward to contributing to your growth as individuals and leaders, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
